The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is currently working with states to design and implement new models for integrating the benefits and financing of both programs. As states build these new models, advocates for dual eligibles must be involved. This website is designed as a resource for advocates, providing resources, background information and, most importantly, in the Advocate Tools section, concrete recommendations that advocates need to engage constructively with their states to ensure that new models improve care for dual eligibles.
Below is a map of states that have expressed an interest in designing new models for serving dual eligibles. Move your cursor over the state map to see the the type of model(s) under consideration. More information including numbers of duals and state websites can be found under State Profiles.

Blue: Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) pending.
Red: Proposal withdrawn.
Yellow: Signed MOU.
Gray: Not seeking demonstration. These states are not seeking to do demonstration projects.
